About Us

Farsight Multi-media is a comprehensive media services provider operating in East Africa and beyond, including areas of unrest such as Somalia, South Sudan and Northern Nigeria.

We employ state of the art HD equipment, as well as live capabilities from certain areas, and editing suites that can handle both analogue and digital projects.

We not only perform media production for multiple platforms, but also provide services such as distribution, community engagement, social media campaigns, translations and live streaming services.

Farsight Multi-media personnel have serviced clients ranging from AMISOM and the United Nations to CNN, the BBC and Deutsche-Welle.

Local African TV stations from across the region have used our material including KTN News (Kenya), SBC TV (Somalia), ETV (Ethiopia), Universal TV (Somalia), WBS (Uganda), ITV (Tanzania), NTV (Kenya/Uganda), Television Nigerian, ETV South Africa and many more.

Radio stations, websites, news apps, news agencies, NGO’s, Foundations and government institutions have also availed themselves of the services of our team.

We have delivered significant media campaigns for both the US Embassy and UNSOM (United Nations Somalia) in Somalia. The US Embassy project was aimed at getting the Somali Diaspora to register with the Embassy and included the production and distribution of PSA’s; Production and distribution of radio discussions and programmes; a digital outreach campaign through Facebook and Twitter.

For UNSOM we conceived and executed an anti-piracy campaign utilizing influence on local media; press release writing and dissemination; a survey of local media; stakeholder live events, documented and distributed; live press conferences.
Both projects were deemed unqualified success by our commissioners.

We are able to field media professionals from across the world and across Africa, covering such territories as Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda in their native languages. We also have teams farther afield, in Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and others. We have news professionals based in Kenya that come from France, the Netherlands, the US, UK, as well as Egypt and even China, giving us the ability to communicate (and voice content) in French, German, Dutch, Arabic and Mandarin (as well as English of course).

Ahmed Maamiry, Director/Cameraman/Video Editor/Writer, has created compelling documentary films for prestigious programs on such broadcasters as Press TV and CGTN, producing films from Sweden to Yemen, the US to Tanzania, and many points in between.

Farsight Multi-media personnel have operated in East Africa and across the world in some of the global hotspots featured in the news. Our expertise starts in Somalia, where we have dozens of operatives across the country, some working closely with government media or local radio, or other platform reporters. We have taken foreign journalists, as well as international NGO or agency personnel, across the country, supplying them fixers, contacts and translation services, all without serious incident.

Our team has deployed to Northern Nigeria investigating the Boko Haram; Iraq for both the US conflict and the ISIS conflict; Afghanistan for the US war; Syria, Egypt and Tunisia for the Arab Spring conflicts; as well as numerous smaller scale emergencies, all without any casualties.
